Chapter 0341
Liam's POV
The glow intensified, spreading across the room. It was as if a supernova had ignited within the chamber, banishing shadows and flooding every corner with blinding light. The oppressive atmosphere began to lighten, the dark tendrils of energy recoiling and retreating like serpents fleeing the dawn. The very air vibrated with a newfound vitality, humming with a resonance that shook me to my core.
"You dare use her power here?" he snarled, shielding his eyes. Astaroth hissed as if the light Lottie wielded burned him, causing him to momentarily loosen his grip on Knox.
"Now!" I yelled as Chase recovered and charged at Astaroth, this time managing to land a solid punch that sent him staggering. Knox broke free, stumbling back toward us, his face a mix of relief and determination.
"Let's get out of here!" Kane shouted, managing to pry the door open a crack. He wedged his shoulder against the massive, ornate door, veins bulging in his neck as he pushed with every ounce of strength. The ancient hinges groaned in protest before yielding just enough to allow passage.
"Move!" he commanded, sweat dripping from his brow. We didn't need to be told twice. I grabbed Lottie's hand, somehow knowing her powers would not hurt me, as I pulled her toward the exit. Adam and Chase covered our retreat, engaging Astaroth to buy us time. They moved in perfect unison, a dance of combat honed over years. Chase feinted left, drawing Astaroth's gaze, while Adam struck from the right with a swift kick aimed at his ribs. Astaroth snarled, dark energy crackling around him as he deflected blows and retaliated with bursts of shadowy force.
"Keep him busy!" I shouted, urgency driving my steps.
"You're not escaping me!" Astaroth's voice echoed, filled with wrath. The sound reverberated off the stone walls, amplifying his fury into a tangible force that seemed to press against us.
We dashed down the corridor, the path twisting and turning as if the castle itself sought to confound us. The flickering torchlight cast eerie shadows that danced ominously along the walls. Lottie lagged behind, her breath coming in ragged gasps, one hand clutching her swollen belly. The weight of her pregnancy slowed her pace, each step a struggle against exhaustion.
Without hesitation, Adam scooped her up in his arms as he rushed by, cradling her protectively against his chest.
"I've got you," he assured her, his voice steady despite the chaos. Lottie wrapped her arms around his neck, her eyes wide with fear but filled with trust.
"Faster!" Kane urged, glancing back with panic flickering in his eyes. Astaroth raised his hands behind us, an evil cackle bouncing off the walls, the sound chilling enough to freeze blood. The very walls began to close in, the corridor narrowing as we ran. Stone and mortar shifted with groans and creaks, passages that were once open now sealed or reduced to mere slivers. The ground beneath us trembled, threatening to throw us off balance.
We burst through the door, spilling into the courtyard. The sky above roiled with dark clouds, lightning flashing ominously. A fierce wind whipped around us, carrying the scent of sulfur and impending doom. The air was heavy, almost suffocating, as thunder rumbled like the growl of an enraged beast.
"Which way?" Lottie asked, panic edging her voice. Her eyes darted around, searching desperately for an escape.noveldrama
"This way!" Chase pointed toward a shimmering portal that hadn't been there moments before. It hovered just off the ground-a swirling vortex of silver and iridescent light. Ethereal tendrils spiralled within it, colours melding and shifting like liquid moonlight. Warmth radiated from it, enveloping us in a comforting embrace despite the surrounding chaos. Deep within, I felt a pull, a serene whisper beckoning us forward. I knew, inexplicably yet certainly, that this was the work of the Moon Goddess.
"Thank you, Selene," I whispered under my breath, somehow knowing it was her. We sprinted toward the portal, hope igniting within us like a flame. But Astaroth appeared before it, blocking our path.
"Did you really think it would be that easy?" he snarled. His eyes blazed with unholy fire, shadows swirling around him like a cloak. The ground beneath his feet cracked and

rising as if the very earth recoiled from his presence. "You cannot escape me!" he roared, his voice a tempest of rage and scorn.
He thrust his hand forward, and a surge of dark energy barreled toward us. Without thinking, I stepped in front of Adam and Lottie, bracing for impact. Time seemed to slow as the malevolent force hurtled toward us a swirling mass of shadow and malice intent on consuming everything in its path.
"No." Lottie cried out as I gave my sister one final look.
"Time is not on my side anyway, dear sister... Let me do this." I admitted knowing I had limited time left made me braver than normal. My heart pounded in my chest, but I stood firm, determined to protect them at any cost.
But the blow never came.
A brilliant light erupted between us and Astaroth, a barrier of luminescent energy. A figure materialised within it-Selene.
"Selene", Kane growled, his body tensing as if ready for round two. Something I understood, given all I knew about their dealings.
"Kane Maddox." She breathed as a

vision of ethereal beauty appeared before us. She was magnificent. So much so that it stole the breath from my lungs Her long, flowing hair cascaded like a waterfall of pure silver, shimmering with the soft glow of moonlight. Her skin was as pale and flawless as porcelain, emitting a gentle radiance that seemed to soothe the very air around her.
Eyes like twin galaxies gazed upon us-vast, deep, and filled with

What do you think?
