The CEO’s little ones

Chapter 24

Chapter 24:.

“So you’ve asked him about anniversary planning?”. Joseph asked about what he had asked in the morning.

Magnus answered and nodded. “Yes, I have. Miss Downey has said she will deliver it as soon as possible, and as expected I didn’t know the company has this tradition, luckily I reminded her. But she’s been pretty stressed lately, so I guess she won’t have much time to prepare.”

“Why is she stressed?”

“She seems to be looking for a Kindergarten for her daughter.” Magnus had a good memory and instantly told him the name of the daycare Hayden was going to apply for, “Miss Downey seems very young, I didn’t expect her daughter to be old enough to go to daycare.”

Joseph’s eyebrows initially relaxed, not knowing why, his brows furrowed once more when he heard Magnus’ words and his gaze turned somber.

As Magnus spoke, Noah suddenly appeared from behind and slammed the drawing board on the table in front of Joseph: [I want to go to Kindergarten].

“Don’t be ridiculous, Noah.” Joseph frowned, “A Kindergarten environment is too complex for you, there will be teacher to teach you at home.”

At his words, Noah exploded and pushed down the stack of documents placed to the side. The documents scattered on the floor and Magnus was so shocked that he quickly bent down to pick them up.

Next, Noah wrote something on the board at high speed and raised it again in front of Joseph: [I want to go to the same Kindergarten as Stella].

Joseph frowned more and replied, “No.”

Noah could not speak. The children at the school were still immature and would undoubtedly bully him. Sending him into a completely foreign environment and letting other accidents happen to him when his autism was still uncured was the last thing he wanted to do.

However, Noah started yelling angrily and smashed all the papers Magnus had just picked up and stacked neatly on the floor. Feeling annoyed, he then wrote a couple more words on the board: [If you don’t let me go, I’ll tell great-grandpa that you’re a bad daddy and I want to live with him].

Joseph was speechless. He put his hand to his forehead feeling helpless, while Magnus tried to hold back the urge to laugh as he crouched on the floor. The president of the ST Group felt truly helpless as he faced his son every day. How could anyone believe that if they didn’t witness it?

Joseph reluctantly spoke after struggling for a long while, “Let me consider it for two days first, and don’t mess around Yes?”.

Noah seemed dissatisfied with his answer, but the sound of the door opening interrupted his objection.

“Joseph.” Violet’s slender figure came into view, entering from outside. She smiled as she stood in the doorway, “Did I interrupt you? I brought lunch for you and little Noah.”

Noah flinched as soon as he heard the sweet voice and suddenly ran into the break room next door as he hugged his drawing board. Joseph considered that he had just accepted her suggestion and didn’t pay much attention to her behavior.

“It’s okay, you can come in.” He looked at Violet.

“If there’s nothing else, I’ll leave for now, Mr. Beckham.”

After surveying the situation, Magnus prepared to leave, but was held back by Joseph. “Magnus, please stop whatever you are doing that is not important at the moment and prepare to plan a wedding.”

“Wedding?” Magnus was puzzled, “For whom?”

“For me.”

Joseph looked nonchalant as if he was saying something extraordinarily normal, even Violet standing behind Magnus was startled. “Why Joseph…”.

“Get ready. After I finish everything I have on my hands, I’m getting married.” Joseph’s attitude was all too composed, but that news was jaw-dropping, both to Violet, who had been his nominal fiancée for five years, and to his assistant Magnus, who knew him best.

Magnus left the room in deep shock, while Violet was in a daze, as if in a reverie. She only responded after a while. “Are you serious, Joseph?”.

“Do you think I look like those people who tell those kinds of jokes? But I won’t force you, you can tell me if you’re reluctant.”

“No, of course not.” Violet was delighted, “It’s just that the surprise came too abruptly.”

Joseph didn’t seem to be pleased, he remained calm with a deadpan look on his face. “You’re right, Noah needs a mom. Besides the maids, you’re the woman he’s most familiar with and no one fits that role better than you.”

Just as she finished her words, there was a thud. Noah was standing in the doorway of the adjoining break room and the drawing board he was holding crashed to the floor. He stared at Joseph in disbelief and with a suddenly flushed face, then jumped anxiously and angrily on the spot.

“Noah?” Joseph didn’t understand his sudden behavior and rushed over to him to check on him, “What’s the matter, did you hurt your feet?”

Noah looked apprehensive. He snatched Joseph’s sleeves and shook his head profusely. “What’s the matter, are you all right?”

Joseph wanted to touch his forehead, but he pushed his hand away and Joseph lost his balance, falling to the ground. “Noah…”

Noah couldn’t express the rage he wanted to express. It exploded the moment Joseph said he wanted to marry Violet. Feeling that Joseph had deceived him, he was furious no matter how Joseph persuaded him. As if he had transformed into a furious lion cub, he ran back to the break room and smashed everything he could touch. The break room soon became a big mess.

That kind of situation had happened many times. Joseph stood in the doorway.

Although he had gotten used to it, his heart still ached. He knew that the reason Noah vented his anger was because he was unable to convey what he wanted to say. He too needed to vent his feelings, but using that kind of means to accomplish it not only hurt others easily, but also himself.

There was no more commotion inside the break room for a long time. Joseph patted the door and said, “Come out, Noah.”

Noah used to lock the door from the inside and refused to open it no matter how much Joseph called him. Although the door to the rest room had no lock from the inside, worrying that he would irritate Noah more if he opened the door and just walked in, Joseph hesitated. “Noah…”.

“Let me take a look at it, Joseph.” Violet stood beside him and her eyes were full of care, “Noah gets along with me, let me try.”

Joseph frowned. Looking at the tightly closed door, he nodded. Then Violet pushed the door with a serene air and said, “It’s me, Violet, little Noah. I’m coming in.”

Noah was huddled in the corner of the room. He looked like he had been injected with drugs when he heard the commotion as Violet came in. He was so scared he didn’t dare move a muscle and his eyes were wild with fear.

Violet closed the door and approached him as he stepped over the wrists strewn on the floor. Her tall shadow loomed before him.

Noah wrapped his arms around himself as he squatted and trembled. “Little Noah.” Violet lowered her voice.

“Don’t be afraid, it’s Violet.” The room was dark and there was only a knocked down lamp shining a dim light on the floor. In Violet’s eyes there was a soft, eerie light that was menacing as soon as she saw it. “Didn’t I tell you to be a good boy, how could you throw things like that?”

Noah pressed his back against the wall with a horrified, helpless look on his face. Disorderly episodes of events flashed through his mind and they all had to do with the bad woman in front of him. And his father really wanted a bad woman like her to become his mother.

“Noah, mark my words, okay?”.
